The Challenge
The station promo team was tasked with positioning the news talent as a trusted pillar of the community. We needed to move beyond standard broadcast tropes to create a campaign that felt hyper-local and authentic. The goal was to build a modular framework capable of highlighting different station functions while maintaining a unified Texan identity across the entire series.
The Strategy & Execution
We developed “The Ones for ______,” a multi-part series designed to align specific news roles with core Texas values. For the “The Ones for Texas” commercial, we used a grounded and lifestyle-driven aesthetic to capture local life and build community trust.
In “The Ones for Justice,” the tone shifted to a more serious investigative narrative, focusing on the investigative reporter’s role in righting wrongs.
By keeping the pacing and cultural signifiers consistent, we ensured the series felt like a single cohesive brand story rather than a collection of separate commercials.
The Result
- Brand Architecture: We successfully executed a modular campaign that scaled across different station departments without losing visual or narrative cohesion.
- Community Trust: By utilizing hyper-local messaging and authentic imagery, the team established the news station as a primary source of trust for the North Texas audience.
- Broad Appeal: The series delivered a high-production broadcast look that balanced the intimacy of a local neighborhood with the authority of a major news organization.
