The Challenge

To position Los Gran Reyes as a central fixture of the Dallas cultural landscape. The goal was to move the band’s identity from a “symbolic” representation of the city to an authentic, “lived” participation in its local scene.

The Strategy & Execution

In collaboration with director AG Granados, I utilized location and camera language as narrative devices to mirror the band’s relationship to the city. We contrasted high-scale cinematic shots of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge with an intimate, self-documented perspective of the Bishop Arts District. By shifting from a polished directorial lens to “selfie” and self-placed camerawork midway through, we authored a sense of genuine belonging and community connection.

The Result

  • Strategic Brand Positioning: Successfully anchored the band as a primary cultural fixture in Dallas, moving their public perception from “performers” to “local icons.”
  • Narrative Versatility: Demonstrated a sophisticated use of “authorship” as a narrative tool, balancing high-production cinematic scale with raw, community-driven authenticity.
  • Audience Connection: Leveraged real-world venue association (Revelers Hall) to convert digital viewers into physical attendees, reinforcing the band’s market presence.
