The Challenge
Social media creators rely on a balance of professional quality and personal relatability. The objective for this session was to produce a series of portraits that communicated the creator’s approachable and lighthearted personality without sacrificing the aesthetic standards of a professional brand. We needed to capture a sense of spontaneity that would function effectively across various digital platforms.
The Strategy & Execution
I focused on a clean and vibrant art direction to ensure the subject remained the focal point. Using a minimalist high-key backdrop, I leaned into candid posing to break the stiffness of a traditional studio session.
We utilized intentional and lighthearted prompts, such as the banana phone pose, to capture the creator’s natural humor and personality.
By creating a relaxed environment, I was able to move beyond static headshots into dynamic expressions that feel genuine to the creator’s online persona.
